A fleeting reflection in the mirror, the way we present ourselves to the world, or something more mysterious—an idea surfacing, an object taking new form, a presence felt but unseen? In Appearance, George Mason University Junior & Senior artists transform perception into something tangible. Self-portraits merge with abstraction, still life's dissolve into illusion, and objects challenge their own realities. Through paint, sculpture, mixed media, and digital work, this exhibition invites viewers to reconsider how we see and what we believe to be true. Nothing is quite as it seems.
