LUX - Metropolitan School of the Arts Company Project


Metropolitan School of the Arts (MSA) of Alexandria Va. will perform its Company Project, called LUX on Sun., Mar. 9 at 6 p.m. at the Richard J Ernst Cultural Community Center at 8333 Little River Turnpike in Annandale. The Company Project is a chance for MSA’s pre-professional companies to perform in a high caliber show, which pushes students’ boundaries artistically, physically, and mentally. Join its jazz, tap and contemporary dance companies, iMpulse, MYTE, and dynaMYTE along with special guest performers, as they explore all things, LIGHT, including external lights and internal light through storytelling. Tickets are $24 to $29. Go to www.metropolitanarts.org to purchase tickets. “More than 40 MSA students from all dance disciplines come alive in The Company Project, illuminating their talents and passion for the performing arts,” said Sara Hart, executive director of Metropolitan School of the Arts of Alexandria, Va. As a non-profit organization, Metropolitan School of the Arts relies on the generous donations of sponsors and the community to sustain operations for its studio programming. Metropolitan School of the Arts is performing arts studio for emerging young artists, grades 7 to 12, who are dedicated to a rigorous experience in a pre-professional performing arts conservatory environment. The studio offers a post-high school graduate/gap program as well, for those students who desire an extra year to prepare for admittance into a performing arts university.
