Art of Lake Anne: The New exhibit at Reston Art Gallery and Studios
Reston Art Gallery and Studios begins the new year with Art of Lake Anne, a collaborative exhibit presenting a wide range of interpretations created in fabric, acrylics, oils, mixed media, and collage, from January 8 to February 5, 2026. A reception will be held on Sunday, January 11, 2–4 PM
Lake Anne Plaza is known for its Mid-Century Modern Brutalist architecture—gray concrete forms that emphasize light and shadow— but the artists of RAGS view the landscape through different eyes and across different media.
Fiber artist Cindy Grisdela presents quilted sailboat imagery, while painter Rosemarie Forsythe captures colorful paddleboats and canoes in vibrant hues. Lakeworks, found-object sculptures by Doug Fuller, interpret the landscape using pale blue tones and crushed silver. Additional works by Sandy Dovberg, Jennifer Duncan, Julia Malakoff, Wayne Schiffelbein, and Pat Macintyre further expand the range of views in this collaborative exhibition.
