Courage Couture Gala
The Courage Couture Gala was created from Leah M. Forney’s personal journey as a survivor of sexual violence who didn’t have a safe space to speak her truth. She was not believed by law enforcement as well as the judge who presided over her case. Not to mention, it took nine years to test her rape kit. Her experience is like so many other survivors of sexual violence and she wants to create a safe space and give survivors one night to feel seen, heard, and validated.
This night is about honoring survivors, amplifying their voices, and fostering healing. It is also the night that we introduce the Thrive & Rebuild Educational Scholarship Fund: This new scholarship, will help survivors of sexual violence pursue their educational goals and rebuild their futures.
This year’s theme, Where Purpose Meets Elegance, celebrates the courage, resilience, and strength of sexual violence survivors. We are committed to raising awareness, amplifying survivor voices, and providing crucial resources for healing.
