Roberto Pugliese Eclectic Guitar Concert Roberto Pugliese is originally from Buenos Aires, Argentina. His grandparents immigrated to Argentina from Italy, and Roberto grew up speaking both Italian and Spanish. He started playing guitar and learning music at the age of 12 years old. He continued his music and guitar studies during high school in Buenos Aires. After graduation, he pursued advanced classical guitar studies in the Argentina Music Conservatory in Buenos Aires. He graduated with a master’s in music studies at the top of his class with the highest honors. Immediately hired to teach at the Conservatory, he became the youngest Maestro at the school. He continued his music studies, specializing in Argentine tango and Latin American music on classical concert guitar. He was Professor of Music and Guitar in music academies in Argentina and Italy. Mr. Pugliese has performed classical guitar music in concerts in more than 55 countries, spanning over 700 cities. Most of these performances featured him playing tango music on guitar. He is also an accomplished composer and has been an arranger of numerous musical pieces for classical guitar, especially for traditional tango music. He has over 200 professional YouTube videos where he has more than 2 million followers of his music. Many of you already attended Roberto’s concert at the Potomac Science Center last year. This year’s concert will be a completely different experience, as Roberto has expanded his repertoire to include not only his signature tango pieces, but also Classical, Blues and Ballads, and Argentina Folk Music. During the concert, he will play both classical and electric guitar. Mr. Pugliese has a very diverse style, entirely mesmerizing audiences. He is fully dedicated to his music and his audience. For twenty years of his life, he resided in Italy as a Professor of Music at a Music Academy. He moved to the United States in 2019, settling in Woodbridge, Virginia. He has composed seven pieces celebrating the beauty of Woodbridge in its Iron Bridge, the forest, the river, etc. He will present some of these pieces during his concert. The concert will be held at the George Mason University Potomac Science Center, located along the beautiful river at 650 Mason Ferry Ave. Woodbridge, VA 22191 on Saturday, December 14, 2024, at 6:00pm.
