FREE Bilingual Family Concert -Cuentos musicales para niño

Washington Metropolitan Philharmonic Association performs FREE Bilingual Family Concerts. On SATURDAY afternoon of November 16, over 20 WMP skilled musicians will perform the delightful music of BENEDIKT BRYDERN in “The Town Musicians,” twice! It is an adorable tale by the Brothers Grimm. Music Director Emeritus and Alexandria Living Legend Ul James conducts. Treat the kids to a pre-supper story time with upbeat classical music and a happy tale. Dreamily return to your own childhood. Little nooks available for ‘time outs’ if needed. Informal, no tickets, no lines. Patricia Washington narrates the English story at 4 PM; Sohamy Marquina narrates “LOS MÚSICOS DEL PUEBLO” in Spanish at 5 PM. Come for one, come for both! Children can enjoy an “instrument petting zoo” after each performance. The musicians are thrilled to teach sounds and techniques. LOCATION: Saturday, November 16, at 4 pm and 5 pm in WEST END ALEXANDRIA at the new Patrick Henry Recreation Center’s multi-purpose activity room, 4652 Taney Ave, Alexandria, VA 22304. Cost: FREE, no tickets. NOTE: WMPA thanks the City of Alexandria City of Office of the Arts, and the National Endowment for the Arts in part for their support, as well as the partnership with Rosas Blancas in the promotion of these Spanish-language concert offerings for children.
