PWCAC-DST Rolls Out the Red Carpet and Celebrates Local Talent for the 15th Year
The Prince William County Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. (PWCAC-DST) will host its 15th Annual Red Carpet Showcase on Saturday, Dec. 7, 2024, from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the Montclair Country Club, 16500 Edgewood Drive, Montclair.
This is a free, public event to encourage literacy and exposure to the arts, while providing an opportunity for emerging artists, authors, and musicians to showcase their talents to the community.
This year’s program will feature five participants – two from Prince William County and three from the greater Washington, D.C., metropolitan region.
Anna Gatling is a Woodbridge-based artist, who works with watercolor and acrylic paints. Her artistic journey experienced a renaissance during the pandemic when she rediscovered her love for painting.
Leanne “L-stringz” Holmes is a professional violinist, classically trained for over two decades. She has developed her niche in performing contemporary music, including hip-hop and R&B.
Tabbie Mann is a Lake Ridge resident, who has released her debut novel, Y’all Chose This: The Diaries of Trina Pardo, the story of a woman's struggle to maintain her identity and hope in a world turning upside down.
Carolyn Quick Tillery has authored a series of HBCU (historically Black college and university) inspired cookbooks that celebrate the heritage, recipes and remembrances of these famed institutions.
Tabatha Turman, a past president of PWCAC-DST, is the founder and CEO of the award-winning government contracting consulting firm, Integrated Finance and Accounting Solutions LLC. Her book, P2D: Elements of a Growth Mindset, encourages individuals to use passion, purpose and drive to claim their destiny.
The program will also include youth sharing their talents.
During the event, guests will have the opportunity to talk with the showcase participants, purchase artwork and books, and enjoy delicious refreshments.
Guests can expect an afternoon of artistic fun while supporting local talent, and perhaps indulging in a bit of holiday shopping! For more information, visit pwcacdst.org.
