Model Train Show and Merit Badge Workshop

For 25 years, Scouting America Troop 964 of Dale City, VA has hosted what has become one of the largest model train shows in the area. This year, their annual show returns to Lake Ridge Middle School on March 8 and 9, 2025. The model train show is open to the public from 10-5 on Saturday, and 10-4 on Sunday. There is an admission charge, and advance discounted tickets are available online. One highlight is a huge Lego display, but they also plan to have displays ranging in size from the tiny Z scale all the way up to live steam G scale trains. The main gym will be taken over by two amazing HO train sets! This proves to be a fun activity for children and adults of all ages. In addition to the model train show, Scouting America Scouts may pre-register to earn the railroading merit badge on either Saturday or Sunday. Merit badge participants have the opportunity to build their own model train boxcar, and run it on the HO display in the main gym during the show.
