Liz Story Solo Piano Concert
Liz Story’s music is timeless. Four decades after the release of her first album, listeners travel across the United States and overseas to have the opportunity to attend one of her rare live concerts. At 74 years old, Liz takes great joy in performing full length solo concerts a couple times a year.
Incorporating jazz harmonies and rhythms with classical elements, Liz’s innovative style sets her apart. Going far beyond the category of what was once called “New Age Music,” Liz’s compositions hold unique depth and emotional complexity. Free from rigid adherence to key signatures, Liz’s pieces are experimental and fluid, blending an intuitive sense of rhythm and harmony with a compelling melodic thread. This combination makes Liz’s music feel accessible, while at the same time bringing the listener an experience of rich emotional depth. Never ordinary, Liz’s livelier pieces soar and dance in graceful scales counterbalanced with compelling rhythms. Her slower pieces are deeply moving, with unique and carefully chosen chord progressions that are somehow, always, just right.
