The Military Child World Expo is a national, family-centered convening dedicated to honoring, supporting, and elevating military-connected children and the communities that serve them. Hosted in Arlington, Virginia, the Home of the Military Child, the Expo brings together families, youth, educators, nonprofits, schools, government partners, and institutions in a shared space of learning, recognition, and belonging.
The Expo features a wide range of programming designed to be inclusive, accessible, and meaningful for both military-connected and civilian families. Core experiences include Education & Pathways, which connects students and families with colleges, universities, community colleges, and scholarship organizations; Teen Caregiver recognition through the Turn Care Into Credit initiative; cultural and arts programming that centers identity and belonging; wellness and family support resources; and youth leadership and engagement opportunities.
Education & Pathways is not a traditional college fair. Instead, it offers guided conversations about higher education, scholarships, financial aid, and postsecondary pathways, welcoming first-generation college aspirants and students at all stages of exploration. Teen caregivers are formally recognized for their service and leadership, while all youth are invited to participate in education, culture, and community programming.
The Military Child World Expo is free to attend and intentionally designed to remove barriers to participation. It is not a fundraising event or commercial marketplace. Rather, it serves as a national platform that brings silos together, education, caregiving, culture, and community, to recognize the contributions of military-connected children and strengthen the ecosystem that supports them.
