The Russians are Coming
Civic Orchestra of Tucson (COT) presents a one-hour family-friendly concert of great Russian composers in an inclusive environment. The concert will feature works of Borodin, Tchaikovsky, Shostakovich, Khachaturian, and Stravinsky. The audience will learn about the orchestral instruments, rhythms, and conducting in a participatory lesson. Dancers from the University of Arizona School of Dance will also perform with the orchestra. At 2:30, prior to the concert, attendees may join the COT's Musical Instrument Petting Zoo, where they will have a chance to try playing some of the orchestra instruments under the direction of COT orchestra members.
