Donkey Day Christmas - Meet the Therapy Donkeys

TUCSON, AZ — On Sunday, December 14, from 1:00–3:00 PM at Brandi Fenton Memorial Park (Ramada Six – The Haybarn), The Human-Animal Connection invites the public to Donkey Day Christmas — a one-of-a-kind holiday celebration centered on joy, healing, and the extraordinary bond between humans and animals. Featuring a dozen gentle donkeys, free family activities, and festive surprises, Donkey Day Christmas brings together hundreds of Tucson families for what many call “the most meaningful event of the season.” “There’s something deeply healing about the presence of animals — and at Donkey Day, you can see it in every child’s face,” says Genie Joseph, PhD, Executive Director of The Human-Animal Connection. “This event is about community, connection, and making space for magic — no matter your age or your story.” Highlights Include: 🫏 Meet, pet, and take selfies with a dozen friendly donkeys 🎅 Visit with Santa and share your holiday wishes 🧵 Donkey-themed and handmade gifts by donation 🎪 Local vendors, crafts, and snacks from community partners The event is free to attend, with RSVPs encouraged through www.TheHumanAnimalConnection.org. Proceeds from donations and vendor participation support The Human-Animal Connection’s mission of bringing animal-assisted healing to trauma survivors, grief support groups, children in need, and community members facing crisis. MEDIA INVITED: Interview opportunities, video footage, and heartwarming moments abound. Past events have drawn widespread community interest and support.
