Free New Year's Day Concert
Dove of Peace opens its 22nd season of charity concerts with their annual New Year's Day concert, Thursday, January 1, 2:00pm. The concert is free and open to the public.
This year, the concert features Monsoon Brass, comprised of True Concord and TSO musicians, performing music of Purcell, Gabrieli and Schubert, as well as Duke Ellington, Ray Henderson and arrangements of holiday favorites.
There is no admission fee charged, rather a free-will offering will be taken in support of Interfaith Community Services (ICS). The church is located at 665 W Roller Coaster Road.
Since its founding in 2016, Monsoon Brass has quickly become a dominant voice in the Arizona arts scene. Comprised of some of the highest caliber brass players in the Southwest, Monsoon Brass regularly performs highly demanding recitals, featuring genres not often performed by standard brass quintets. Their enthusiasm for new compositions has led them to commission several new works, and they enjoy bringing to life many overlooked compositions from the past century. Whether performing Renaissance music, colossal modern works, or jazz music with thrilling improvisation by trumpeter Jason Carder, Monsoon Brass brings a fresh perspective to brass chamber music.
