There’s quite a market these days for reboots, reunions, and reinventions. Nostalgia rules just about every piece of mass media (have you seen the packaging of Chips Ahoy! in the grocery store lately?) so it was only a matter of time before the greatest rock band who never lived would find themselves back in the spotlight.
Forty years have passed and the artists who formerly rocked the world as Spinal Tap have each gone on to other things. As fate would have it, a rediscovered contract lures them back to the stage for one last concert. Led by the original cast of Christopher Guest, Michael McKean, and Harry Shearer, as well as a who’s-who of musician cameos, Spinal Tap II: The End Continues captures the reemergence of “one of England’s loudest bands” in this crazy modern era.
