Roe v. Wade Commemoration / Reproductive Freedom Visibility Event
Join Pinellas NOW's annual rally and sign-waving visibility event in downtown St. Petersburg to commemorate the anniversary of the U.S. Supreme Court's 1973 Roe v. Wade decision.
Why hold this event?
- This offers a way to collectively express our outrage
- When those in power try to silence us, we rise louder. When they attack our communities, we fight back—together.
- We want to make sure to voice our resistance to attacks on reproductive freedom, including the six-week abortion ban, now in place, imposed on Florida women by the Florida Legislature and Governor DeSantis; public funding of anti-abortion centers (Support HB 6001/SB 242 which repeals funds for anti-abortion centers); legislation to allow parents, spouse, sibling, abuser or rapist to sue for $100K in damages if a woman accesses abortion care in violation of state law (Oppose HB 663).
