Death in Briar Bottom: A Conversation with Author Timothy Silver
Join The Gilded Page bookstore Thursday, December 5th at 5 PM at Palm Harbor Library as we welcome Timothy Silver to celebrate his newest release, Death in Briar Bottom: The True Story of Hippies, Mountain Lawmen, and the Search for Justice in the Early 1970s, the true story of Clearwater native Stanley Altland's death. A mix of true crime, southern history, and personal storytelling--including interviews with surviving Clearwater campers--Death in Briar Bottom shows how, in the dark of night at a remote mountain campsite, the killing of an innocent man epitomized the suspicion of young people and violence toward the counterculture that gripped the nation in the early 1970s. Timothy will be in conversation with local author L.L. Kirchner, author of Florida Girls.
