St. Petersburg’s renowned community chorus, One City Chorus, will celebrate its tenth anniversary of creating community through song with a concert at The Palladium Theater on February 22nd at 4 PM. This concert also signifies a new era for the chorus, as they welcome their new artistic director, Chris Romeo. Still the same fun-loving chorus fighting for our communities and equality, they will present a program of favorites both old and new, with some of the best social justice literature out there from Sam Cooke, Bob Dylan, Lady Gaga and many more.
Founded in 2016 by Jon Arterton and James Mack, One City Chorus seeks to make the world a better place by singing songs about social justice, civil rights, diversity and equality, and encouraging people of all races, cultures, creeds and communities to join—no audition needed! Their performances have been described as “joyous, uplifting and beautifully sung” by Creative Loafing, who honored them with a Best of the Bay Award for “Best Voices Raised Together in Song.” If you are feeling a little low, or a little lost with the climate of our country right now, come celebrate with One City Chorus as they sing to unite our community and fight for what is right.
