When two struggling math students, Algie and Bray, wander off during a field trip to an enchanted museum, anything can happen. After falling behind their tour group, they discover an old, forgotten exhibit called “The Brain”—a machine said to answer any question in the world using the power of mathematics.
At first, their attempts to activate the exhibit fail. But just as they’re about to give up, a brilliant flash lights up the room and The Brain suddenly comes to life, launching the students into an unforgettable adventure.
Blending multimedia storytelling with the five core strands of elementary mathematics, this lively musical shows how math has shaped every corner of human history. Through upbeat numbers like “Endless Possibilities” and the title track “Numbers Don’t Lie,” Algie and Bray discover the surprising ways math connects to the world around them.
With audience-participation favorites such as “Pollution Solution” and “The Tap Measure,” kids are drawn into the fun as students gain a new appreciation for the subject they once struggled with.
By the high-energy finale, “Math Rules,” Algie and Bray learn—and share—that math is everywhere: in sports, science, medicine, music, and every part of our daily lives.
* CURRICULUM CONNECTIONS: There are five basic strands in Elementary Mathematics:Number Sense and Numeration, Measurement, Geometry & Spatial Sense, Patterning & Algebra, and Data Management & Probability
