The Essex-Passaic Chapter of NAMI (The National Alliance on Mental Illness) Connection Recovery Peer Support Group Program Meets on the 4th Tuesday of each month at the West Caldwell Library on 30 Clinton Road.
NAMI is the most influential organization devoted to helping people with mental illness and their relatives and loved ones recover and deal with mental health issues. These meetings will be led by people having some form of mental illness. During these meetings, we will conduct peer support though all people interested in this organization are encouraged to attend. You do not have to sign up in advance. All meetings are kept confidential and are led by people specifically trained to conduct these meetings.
NAMI Connection is a recovery peer support group program that offers respect, understanding, encouragement and hope. NAMI Connection groups are:
· Free and confidential
· Held monthly for 90 minutes
· Designed to connect, encourage, and support participants using a structured support group model
· Led by trained facilitators living in recovery themselves
This meeting is for anyone ages 18+ who is dealing with their own mental illness or a loved one's.
