Using newspapers and other archival materials, archivist and historian Mickey DiCamillo traces the arrival of the flu and its spread through New Jersey and Philadelphia. He discusses the symptoms and the demographics of those who contracted the virus, the responses and reactions of people and their governments, and the desperate measures people took to cope with the medical and societal consequences of a region held in the flu’s deadly grip.
