We are excited to announce and invite you to our upcoming Greek Elder Care Network™ Book Club event in collaboration with the Hellenic American Project (HAP) and the Greek American Writers Guild. Mark your calendars for Saturday, November 16th, for a one-of-a-kind evening at the THESPIS Theater in Astoria, where Yvette will present her latest novel, Daughter of Ruins.
Yvette Manessis Corporon, a first-generation Greek American, draws deeply from her family's roots in her writing. Her connection to Greece adds a rich authenticity to her work. Daughter of Ruins takes readers on a journey through time, weaving together the lives of a contemporary Greek American woman and her ancestors on the island of Corfu. The novel explores themes of love, sacrifice, family, turmoil, and resilience. It is a deeply moving story that follows three women struggling to control their destinies, fighting to become the women they were meant to be.
The event will kick off with a book signing at 5:00 PM, followed by a live interview at 5:30 PM, where Dr. Nicholas Alexiou, founder of the Hellenic-American Project (HAP) and Professor of Sociology at Queens College, will interview Yvette in front of a live audience.
