Accessibility: Please note this service is held outdoors on grass. Attendees are encouraged to wear appropriate footwear and dress for early morning temperatures. Seating is limited — guests are welcome to bring a folding chair.
As the sun rises on Easter morning, Bishop Janes United Methodist Church gathers at Evergreen Cemetery in Basking Ridge for a sunrise service.
We come as the women came — to a place where we only expect to encounter death — and find instead that death has lost its sting. We enter in the darkness of early morning and leave with the Light journeying with us. It is an experience that stays with people long after Easter morning has passed.
Easter Sunday worship continues at 9:30 AM at Bishop Janes United Methodist Church, 22 South Finley Avenue, Basking Ridge. All are welcome at both services.
