Spring Oratorio Concert in Basking Ridge
The Basking Ridge Presbyterian Church presents its annual Spring Oratorio Concert on Sunday, March 30th at 4 pm. Led by the Oratorio Choir and Knox Bell Choir with a special guest orchestra, this beautiful program will feature British composer Philip Stopford’s "Missa Deus Nobiscum" (Mass of God With Us) as well as a sing-along medley of familiar spring hymns arranged by BRPC musical director, Chris Fortin.
Philip Stopford’s beautiful work is a setting of the Latin Mass performed for both worship and concert use. The text is that of the Ordinary of the Mass excluding the Credo, with the Gloria being divided into four movements. The Kyrie has a noticeably Celtic flavor.
A delicious reception in Westminster Hall will follow. A free will offering will be taken to help cover costs for this and other special music events. To support BRPC endeavors throughout the year, please consider visiting the Friends of Music page at www.brpc.org/worship/friends-of-music.
