Spring Oratorio Concert in Basking Ridge
The Basking Ridge Presbyterian Church Oratorio Choir will perform British composer Howard Goodall’s "Eternal Light: A Requiem" on Sunday, March 22 at 4 pm featuring solo vocalists, strings, harp, and piano. The Knox Bell Choir will also perform. BRPC Director of Music Ministries Chris Fortin will conduct the ensemble.
Commissioned in 2008 by London Musici to celebrate its 20th anniversary, Howard Goodall’s "Eternal Light" has been described as a journey through the profound themes of life, love, and eternity. Offering an emotional resonance that provides comfort, solace, and a reflection on the cycle of life, this requiem is designed to guide listeners to a place of peace and contemplation. Audiences have praised “Eternal Light” as a masterpiece that touches the heart and soul, calling it an unforgettable expression of musical brilliance and emotional depth.
BRPC is located at 1 East Oak Street in Basking Ridge. A delicious reception in Westminster Hall will follow the performance.
