Women as Storytellers

The Gateway Festival Orchestra is thrilled to present "Women as Storytellers", a special concert celebrating Women’s History Month. Join Conductor Dr. Leon Burke III and our musicians at Pattonville High School for an inspiring evening honoring female trailblazers. The program features Cécile Chaminade’s Concertino for Flute, written by the first female composer awarded the Legion of Honor. You will also experience Florence Price’s Symphony No. 4, a masterpiece by the first Black woman to have a symphony performed by a major American orchestra. We round out the evening with beautiful works by Blanca Estrella and Margery Ziegler Goldstein. This event offers a wonderful opportunity for families and the community to enjoy inclusive, world-class music together! Join us Sunday, March 8, 2026, at 6:00 PM at the Pattonville High School Auditorium. No tickets needed. The concert is free.
