Original Art by Al Horst

Local artist and painter Alvin Horst has been a life long student of drawing and painting. As a youth he frequented the Nelson Gallery of Art in Kansas City. He began a serious practice of art after graduating with a doctorate in theology and has spent fifty years in studio study in area art schools. His main mentor influencers were St. Louis master Edward Boccia and Larry Kozuszek. Horst has shown works over the years, frequently at Norton's Fine Art & Framing. His diverse range of subject matter and styles find expression in equally diverse mediums from pen and ink to oils, oil pastels and colored pencils. His most individual pieces are drawn from his experiences and take on the character of dreams, images from the subconscious and figurative groupings in beyond natural space and reality. Norton's Fine Art & Framing Open Tuesday through Saturday from 10:00am until 6:00pm
