Join us to celebrate the opening of Looking Back Toward the Future: Contemporary Photography from China. Presenting more than forty large-scale works by fourteen artists, this exhibition surveys the emergence of conceptual photography in China after 1989, exploring how artists used performance and diverse photographic methods to examine a rapidly shifting sociopolitical landscape. Free and open to the public. Related Events The public reception is preceded by the member and WashU preview at 4:30 pm and a panel discussion in Steinberg Auditorium at 5:30 pm.
