Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration is at 11 a.m. on January 20 at Touhill Performing Arts Center, 1 Touhill Circle in St. Louis.
The St. Louis Symphony Orchestra and the University of Missouri–St. Louis celebrate the work and ideals of Dr. King each year with a concert. This year, The Sheldon’s All-Star Chorus and UMSL’s Voices of Jubilee gospel choir lend their voices to the event, “Beloved Community.” Activist Fredericka Newton, activist and founder/CEO of the Huey P. Newton Foundation, delivers a keynote address. The event is free and open to the public, with no registration required.
