Ballet 314 presents The Accused


Ballet 314 closes its 6th season with a triple bill featuring three distinct works, Envy of Angels, Lark Ascending, and The Accused. Robert Poe’s Envy of Angels returns in a meditative exploration of the afterlife. Lark Ascending makes its’ St. Louis premiere, bringing George Meredith’s poetic work to the stage through dance and American Sign Language interpretations. The performance concludes with the titular piece, The Accused. In this gripping work of historical fiction, Robert Poe unites the literary works and character developments of The Crucible and I, Tituba, in a one-act narrative ballet following Tituba as she withstands the infamous Salem Witch Trials. ASL interpretation will be provided during the program. Content warning: violence, depictions of death, suitable for ages 12+
