Falls Prevention One of the major risks for physical illness and hospitalization in older adults is falls. While caregivers and professionals try to attend to certain physical and mental health challenges of loved ones, the prevention of falls is often very challenging. This interactive training will deliver introductory content about the basics of fall prevention, body strength, and exercise tips for older adults. Professionals will receive helpful techniques that they can implement and discuss with patients and caregivers in their clinical practice. Loneliness & Social Isolation Summit Through expert-led presentations and interactive discussions, the summit highlights evidence-based interventions, innovative community programs, and emerging research aimed at fostering meaningful social connections among aging populations. Key topics include the relationship between social isolation and chronic disease, mental health outcomes, caregiver burden, and strategies for building inclusive, connected communities. Cognitive Stimulation Therapy The next upcoming training will be hosted on June 6, 2026. After registering and completing the CST Training at Saint Louis University—either in person (breakfast, lunch, and snacks provided) or virtually—you will have the training and resources needed to support individuals living with memory loss. This practitioner training introduces participants to Cognitive Stimulation Therapy (CST), an evidence-based, non-pharmacological intervention designed to improve cognitive functioning and quality of life for individuals living with dementia. The training provides an overview of dementia, the history and research behind CST, and the key principles that guide both group and individual CST sessions. Participants will learn the structure of the 14-session CST program, observe CST in program, observe CST in practice, and engage in hands-on skill-building to facilitate sessions effectively. Additional topics include group development, cultural considerations, maintenance CST (mCST), and strategies for implementing CST in clinical and community settings.
