Through SAM’s lecture series and other dynamic programming, you have the chance to reflect, start a dialogue and uncover new perspectives about the world. One such series, SAM Talks, brings nationally recognized artists, scholars and cultural thinkers to Seattle for conversations that deepen your understanding of art and its impact on society. On March 7, as part of SAM’s ongoing initiative on Alexander Calder and his extensive influence, art historian and distinguished professor Dr. Richard Powell will take the stage to delve into Calder's legacy, specifically for artists like Thaddeus Mosely and other artists in the African diaspora.
