The event will spotlight the creativity, culture and talent of Black artists and creators in the greater Seattle area with ticket sales benefitting Family First Community Center, a Renton-based non-profit organization founded by former Seattle Seahawks player Doug Baldwin Jr.
This year’s event theme is “I Choose You,” a letter to Black love, music and lyricism. This immersive event will transport attendees into a world where creativity meets poetry and art, featuring a diverse collection of musically themed artwork that explores themes of love, desire, heartbreak and healing. Featured artists and performers will include Anokye Agofomma, a Ghanian cultural dance group, a fashion show featuring Black clothing designers, Monae Brown of Moes Art Gallery, and Chloe Morris of Couture Creations by Chloe.
Additionally, the event will feature pop-ups from Black-owned food and beverage vendors including Soul Fusion Food, Sansinos Catering, and On Blended Knee, a Woodinville-based winery.
The Black Makers and Creatives event will take place on Sunday, March 1 starting at 1 p.m. Tickets are $10 per person and can be purchased by visiting Tickets | 4th Annual Black Makers & Creatives Art Exhibit | Hyatt Regency Lake Washington.
All ticket sales proceeds from the Black Makers & Creatives event will be donated to Family First Community Center, an organization dedicated to serving the community through a wide range of services including financial literacy workshops for parents, “Mathletics” classes for children, senior storytelling sessions, and much more.
