Hyatt Regency Lake Washington at Seattle’s Southport is hosting the Third Annual Black Makers & Creatives event. It will celebrate the culture and talents of local black artists in honor of Black History Month and will benefit Family First Community Center, a Renton-based non-profit organization founded by former Seattle Seahawks player Doug Baldwin Jr.
This year’s event theme is “Nebula.” This immersive event will transport attendees into a world where creativity meets the cosmos, featuring a diverse collection of celestial-themed artwork that explores themes of identity, spirituality, and the universe. The lineup of artists will include Stephanie Morales of AxSM Art, Jes Lilly of Jes Lilly Art, and Jonarra Swanson of NARR.
Additionally, the event will feature pop-ups from Black-owned food vendors including Soul Fusion Food and Dom’s Southern Style Banana Pudding. La’Rissa and Michael Dwyer, owners and founders of the Woodinville, WA-based winery, On Blended Knee, will also be on-site to share their story and their wine.
The Black Makers and Creatives event will take place on Sunday, February 16 between 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. Tickets are $10 per person and can be purchased by visiting https://www.hyattexperiences.com/hyatt-regency/searl?icamp=property_page_menu_book_experiences#!/.
All proceeds will be donated to Family First Community Center, an organization dedicated to serving the community through a wide range of services including financial literacy workshops for parents, “Mathletics” classes for children, senior storytelling sessions, and much more.
