Letter Writing for Students and Educators in Anti-Queer States
On Sept. 28, come contribute supportive words, art, collage’s etc. for 2SLGBTQIA+ students and their educators currently residing in anti-2SLGBTQIA+ states. All are welcome to attend!
The goal of artist and educator Molly Vaughan's letter writing campaign is to create encouraging letters for students of all ages and their educators who need to hear words of encouragement to continue to exist and learn during this time of state sponsored terror against them. Lets work together to show the 2SLGBTQIA+ community that they are loved and not forgotten.
As a trans educator, Vaughan is no longer welcome to return to the universities, colleges, and schools in Florida where she once taught because she is a trans woman. As a Professor with 25 years of experience, Vaughan began her transitioned in her Florida classrooms, and knows first hand the damage to education and an individuals development that students experience in locations where they are the targets of state sponsored violence for the sexuality and/or gender identity.
Vaughan will be working with institutions, organizations, and individual educators in Florida and TX to distribute the contributions from this first event.
