Who has access to experiencing art, and how can we broaden our own idea of how we all experience art? “Please Touch: Together, Breaking Barriers” challenges the traditional boundaries of art appreciation by inviting visitors to engage with artwork through touch. “Please Touch” raises awareness about accessibility for blind and low-vision people in the arts while bridging the gap between visual and tactile experiences. Come by and touch the art!
Meet some of the curators and artists on First Thursday, Oct. 3, 6 p.m. ARTS at King Street Station will be open until 8 p.m., part of Pioneer Square’s Art Walk, so make it a stop on your rounds.
Two other events are happening at the same time. Downstairs, Station Space, will also be holding their Block Party in the plaza from 5:30 – 8:30 p.m. And the youth-curated exhibition, “FRESSSSSH!” will still be on view before it closes on Saturday, 10/5.
ARTS at King Street Station is open Wednesday - Saturday, 11 a.m. - 5 p.m., and until 8 p.m. on First Thursdays.
