20th Annual Caregivers Forum
Senior Friendship Centers will host its 20th Annual Caregivers Forum on Friday, February 6, 2026, at https://harvesthousecenters.org. The event provides practical strategies and resources for family caregivers managing aging, chronic illness, or dementia.
The program features a keynote by Dr. Derrick DeSilva, a nationally recognized internal medicine physician who blends Eastern and Western practices to promote holistic wellness. Two interactive panels will follow, with leaders from the Area Agency on Aging, Sarasota County Government, and local experts. Attendees will enjoy breakfast, networking, and access to senior service resources.
“Too often, the challenges faced by caregivers are overshadowed by the focus on the patient,” said Erin McLeod, President and CEO of Senior Friendship Centers. “Our goal is to ensure caregivers receive the support they need - not just to survive, but to thrive.”
About Derrick DeSilva, M.D.
Dr. DeSilva brings 37 years of experience in integrative medicine. His keynote will focus on building resilience and sustaining mental and physical health for caregivers.
