Good Friday in Payne Park
On Good Friday, First Sarasota – The Downtown Baptist Church will present the second annual “Good Friday in Payne Park” event, which takes place on Friday, April 18, 5:30-8:30 p.m., in Payne Park (2010 Adams Lane, Sarasota). Free and open to the public, the event will feature an appearance by famous football star Tim Tebow, an inspirational Good Friday service, food stations, a massive Easter egg hunt, inflatables and face painting for kids, live music, and more. Tim Tebow is a two-time national champion, Heisman Trophy winner, College Football Hall of Fame inductee, first-round NFL draft pick, and a former professional baseball player. The five-time New York Times best-selling author, speaker, and college football analyst is most passionate about his work with the Tim Tebow Foundation, whose mission is to bring faith, hope, and love to those needing a brighter day in their darkest hour of need. The timeline for the event is as follows: 5:30 p.m., free food, inflatables, face painting; 6:15 p.m., Easter egg hunts; 7 p.m., Good Friday Service featuring Tim Tebow. Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets and arrive early to secure a spot on the lawn for the service and remarks by Tebow.
