Hermitage Sunsets @ Benderson Park: “Chamber Flights & Opera Nights,” with 2025 Winner of the Aspen Music Festival’s Hermitage Prize in Composition Harriet Steinke and Grammy Award-Nominated mezzo-soprano and Hermitage Fellow Thea Lobo,Thursday, February 5, 5pm: Harriet Steinke, winner of the 2025 Hermitage Prize in Composition at the Aspen Music Festival, often composes concert music for chamber ensembles, orchestras, and soloists across the United States. Sarasota-based Hermitage Fellow Thea Lobo is a Grammy Award-nominated mezzo-soprano whose singing goes “right to the heart” (OperaNow! Podcast). For this memorable evening of classical music, Lobo will perform favorites from her opera repertoire, accompanied by her husband Sam Nelson, while Steinke will share her original compositions, performed by a string ensemble, in this sunset program – the latest in the Hermitage Sunsets @ Benderson Park series.
