ACE - Western World Religions-Judaism: The Religion of Obedience to the Law
Beginning with the biblical patriarch Abraham, we will explore the historical context of the foundation of the ancient Israelite religion by Moses in the 13th century B.C. and trace its evolution into the universal religion of Judaism in the 6th century B.C. under the leadership of Ezra and Nehemiah, culminating in the development of Rabbinic Judaism after 70 A.D. We will explore the main branches of modern Judaism and also its key teachings concerning God, creation, human beings, the problem of sin, and the transformative path of Torah.
