ACE - Acrylic Abstract Painting: Developing Abstract Techniques, Adv Beginner/Intermediate
Expand your palette and get the most out of the colors you use. Learn how to create harmonious paintings and push yourself past using colors straight from the tube. Every artist has unique color preferences and methods, and in this class we will delve into color theory while painting in a variety of abstract styles. Classes will include short demonstrations and discussions, and lessons will be taught in steps so that you can learn and practice techniques while building confidence. The goal of this class is to loosen up and further develop your own abstract painting skills in a relaxed and enjoyable setting.
Materials Needed:
4-5 canvases in sizes you prefer
Palette paper
Palette knife
Assorted acrylic paintbrushes: (Acrylic Royal & Langnickel Brush set from Walmart or Amazon will work)
Acrylics (Liquitex Basics or similar student grade is fine): Ultramarine Blue; Phthalocyanine Blue (green shade); Phthalocyanine Green; Cadmium Red Light; Alizarin Crimson; Quinacradone Magenta; Cadmium Yellow Deep; Cadmium Yellow Light; Burnt Umber; Paynes Gray; Titanium White; Parchment; (optional: small set of flourescents & green gold)
