FOR MORE INFORMATION: Frances Freyberg, www.francesfreyberg.com The Portola Art Gallery presents "Sacred Places of the World -- Photographs from the Middle East, Asia, Europe, and the Americas" by Frances Freyberg. Highlights include colorful temples of Japan, Hong Kong, and Cambodia; domes of different shapes and sizes, from the Taj Mahal in India, to the Mir-i-Arab Madrassa in Uzbekistan; and atmospheric ruins, from Tintern Abbey in Wales, to Teotihuacan in Mexico. The photographs were selected to highlight the visual similarities and contrasts in the architecture and design of sacred sites from different locations and faith traditions. An artist reception will be held on Saturday, May 3, from 1:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. and a “meet the artist” day will be held on Saturday, May 31, from 11:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M. In addition to signed and framed photographs, there will also be a variety of photo cards for sale. Frances Freyberg of Menlo Park specializes in photographs of nature, wildlife, architecture, and people from her travels to more than 70 countries.
