SJMB presents ....the final frontier
We invite you to join the San Jose Metropolitan Band in our …the final frontier concert on Sunday, March 2nd at 3:00pm at the Hammer Theatre. We will feature otherworldly songs that range from the classic When You Wish Upon a Star, as arranged by the great Sammy Nestico, to the world premiere of The Dot, a new composition by up-and-coming local composer Vivian Le. We will also be featuring out-of-this-world works by John Giroux, Katahj Copley, John Stout, Jodie Blackshaw, Roger Zare and David Maslanka. We will be playing Rocketship!, a band and audience favorite by Kevin Day, and of course we will have a nod to that famous science-fiction franchise that gave us our concert theme, Symphonic Suite from Star Trek.
The Hammer Theatre is located at Paseo de San Antonio and Third Street in downtown San Jose. The Hammer is a great concert venue with a parking lot right next to the theater and easy light rail access.
Come early and explore downtown San Jose, which is home to the San Jose Museum of Art, the dynamic South of First Area (SOFA), and San Pedro Square. After the concert, plan to finish the day at one of the many excellent downtown restaurants by the theater.
Advanced ticket reservations are strongly recommended to expedite entry into the concert. Ticket prices are $25 for adults, $20 for seniors, $10 for students, and FREE for children.
