Cupertino Village, an Asian-inspired neighborhood shopping center in Cupertino, California (https://cupertinovillage.shopkimco.com/), will celebrate the Year of the Snake with a fun-filled, family-friendly Lunar New Year event on Sunday, February 2nd, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. The event, taking place behind the grassy area near 99 Ranch Market, will feature several entertainment and activities based on authentic cultural traditions. During the event, guests can write their New Year wishes on a card to be placed in a red envelope on the center’s Wishing Tree for luck and good fortune. Event attendees will also enjoy a Lunar New Year stilt walker; breathtaking, colorful ethnic dance performances by the award-winning Helen Dance Academy; and an interactive lion dance followed by a talented local drum troupe. Children are invited to make their own swirling snake and magic painting during a special children’s craft activity (while supplies last) and will enjoy a special storytime with bilingual Mandarin and English readings of “Nian, The Chinese New Year Dragon” and “PoPo's Lucky Chinese New Year” by a native speaker dressed in Lunar New Year attire. This event is free and open to the public; no pre-registration is required. For more information, visit https://cupertinovillage.shopkimco.com.
