Author, artist, and designer Teresa Mallen shares her new book, The Artists Path, through readings and conversation with author Jeri Ross. Copies of the book will be available for purchase and signing. Light refreshments will be provided.
The Artist's Path is a memoir inviting the reader to follow the authors' artistic journey from her early days to the present, spanning 50 years. She shares the connection between her life and art, illuminating her unique sensibilities and how the work of an artist comes to be. Teresa's artistic path takes readers beyond the canvas to explorations of stained glass painting, paper and wood, sculpting and graphic design, crafting women's accessories, furniture and garden design, and architecture. The book is rich with personal stories, poems, and colorful reproductions of her work. This memoir will inspire fellow artists and captivate the hearts of art lovers everywhere.
About Teresa Mallen
Teresa has been working as a professional artist and designer for over 50 years. With a degree in painting from the University of California at Santa Cruz, she branched out into Graphic Design and later worked as a designer of women's accessories. In 1991, she decided to devote herself to painting, went to live in a palapa in Mexico and returned with a large body of work. Since then her work has been widely collected. She's also been featured in a documentary produced by Cablevision of Santa Cruz entitled Portrait of an Artist: Teresa Mallen. Her beautiful work graces the covers of books, calendars and poetry broadsides and she has illustrated several books including "Sola" by Flora Durham, published by Alcatraz Editions as well as authoring her own book, Illuminations. She lives in Santa Cruz, California with her husband Michael Ready and their cat Tuxananda.
