The 7th Annual HDSA San Jose Team Hope 5K timed Run & 5K Walk takes place in Campbell Park, on May 17, and registration will begin at 9 am where all participants will receive a t-shirt. Runners are $60 and Walkers are $35. There will be raffle and silent auction items, face painting, food, water, drinks and music. Runners start at 9:30 am, walkers 10:00 am and travel on the Los Gatos Creek Trail. Hydration & first aid tables are set up along the trail as well as sponsor posters. The company RecordTiming (RT) times the runners as an in-kind donation. Top 3 runners will receive a medal. When participants have returned, approximately 11:30, a program will begin to thank sponsors (they may speak if they chose to), participants, volunteers, top 3 fundraising team, announce raffle and silent auction winners.
Approximately 150-200 attendees come to the event each year.
The funds raised will go toward the HDSA mission work that provides education, support groups, social workers and funds for research, clinical trials and supports Stanford Medicine Huntington's disease (HD) clinic and UCSF Medical Center HD clinic.
