This year in celebration of National Library Week, SCPL invites you to take a deep dive into the world of libraries with three screenings of the documentary Free for All: The Public Library, at our Branciforte, Capitola and Scotts Valley Branches. Free for All: The Public Library tells the story of the quiet revolutionaries who made a simple idea happen; from the pioneering women behind the “Free Library Movement” to today's librarians who service the public despite working in a contentious age of closures and book bans, meet those who created a civic institution where everything is free and the doors are open to all. Registration is recommended, but drop-ins are welcome. If this program fills up the meeting room, the same movie will be screened on Thursday, April 10, at the Capitola library at 6:30 p.m, and on Saturday, April 12, at the Scotts Valley Library at 1 p.m.
