Over Memorial Day weekend, May 23–25, the farmyard at Ardenwood will be full of model trains of all sizes, displays by Northern California railroad museums, the historic Patterson House will be open for tours, our Railroad Museum will display some of our rarest historic railroad cars built in the Bay Area, train rides on our narrow gauge historic train, and Museum volunteers will be restoring a century-old railroad car which will be added to the museum’s passenger train when it’s finished. Everything is included in your ticket price except food and face painting.
There will also be other activities for the family to enjoy such as stilts and tabletop games; for the toddlers we have wooden trains to play with, and parents can sit under a shady tree with their children and enjoy our Train Book Library. Be sure to check out all of the Northern California train museums who will be exhibiting also.
Avoid the long line—buy your tickets in advance by clicking the links below. You may also purchase tickets in person at the train station (credit only). Parking is free. NOTE: The LAST DAY to purchase advance tickets is Friday, May 22, so get your tickets early. Rail Fair hours are 10 am to 4 pm each day.
All activities, dates and times will be included in the event handout at the park entrance. Rail Fair is presented in conjunction with the East Bay Regional Park District. This is a once-a-year event benefitting the all-volunteer Railroad Museum at Ardenwood operated by SPCRR, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Check out our social media for more event news.
