Yerba Buena Gardens Festival Presents La Santa Cecilia + La Doña
The 25th Anniversary Yerba Buena Gardens Festival opens its season of over 100 free events with a double bill featuring GRAMMY-winning La Santa Cecilia and San Francisco's own.
La Santa Cecilia exemplifies the modern-day creative hybrid of Latin culture, rock and world music. The group draws inspiration from all over the world, utilizing Pan-American rhythms including cumbia, bossa-nova, rumba, bolero, tango, jazz and klezmer music. In a perfect pairing of acts, the Bay Area’s own La Doña gets the party started with an opening set. The vocalist, trumpeter, songwriter and pioneer of the sensuous, hard-hitting femeton sound La Doña has earned international renown with her alluring blend of reggaeton, rancheras and cumbias.
