Conundrum Chronicles StorySlam

December’s Theme: “The Jew in You!” What are some key moments in your life that helped form and inform your Jewish identity? How do your beliefs and understanding of what it means to be Jewish in America differ from those of your parents, grandparents, or other members of your immediate family? Do you have a special Jewish tradition or family heirloom that you have chosen to keep—or leave behind? Steve Budd is a playwright, comedian, actor, and award-winning solo performer (2x winner of Best of the SF Fringe) whose solo shows include “Oy, What They Said About Love,” “What They Said About Sex,” and “Seeing Stars.” He’s performed all over the country and in Canada, England, and Israel. You may have seen him performing at The Marsh, San Francisco Playhouse, Central Works, New Conservatory, or Marin Shakespeare, among other theaters. Artemis Frederick is a 23-year-old jewelry maker and cat person. They graduated from Bard in the spring with a degree in literature and a senior thesis on the construction of gender in children’s books. Artemis’s happy places are looking for sea glass on the beach and visiting their neighborhood goats. Mindy Myers: Mix 2 cups humor and word-smithing, with 1 cup New York wise-crackings. Sift through a lens of creativity. Add a dash of nightly story telling practice from her childhood dinner table, with peppery sarcasm. Stir well and you have the unique stylings of Mindy Myers. Mindy is a playwright, storyteller, young adult book author, and culinary educator (could you tell?).
