Singer songwriter Kevin Beals is a deeply curious and creative human who has spent his life delightedly immersed in nature, and in meaningful and playful interaction with humanity. Kevin cut his music performance teeth leading campfires for years as a raft guide and outdoor science school instructor. He led the band Bungee Jumpin’ Cows for many years, creating, recording, and performing such perennial campfire hits as Banana Slug Song and Gusano. During the depths of the pandemic, Kevin decided to focus on writing quieter “folk rock” songs, working with his buddy singer songwriter Jenner Fox as his songwriting coach. Bones and Stones is the result. The songs were recorded live, for feel and groove, with excellent musicians, background vocalists, and engineers, mostly at Hyde Street Studio in San Francisco. These magnificent humans have been invaluable collaborators in crafting the recordings, and their enjoyment of working and playing with each other on the songs can be felt through the music. Other performers in this show include Tony Glaser, Shawn Barry, Steve Pierce, Liam Craddock, Amy MacClain, Joshua “Bobcat” Stacy, Jason Reeder + special guests. Bones & Stones songs are lyrically rich, brimming with sumptuous imagery and perspectives. Vulnerable and empathetic. Poignant, with touches of whimsy. Windows into souls with fresh and catchy musicality. Let it Rain is the first of 4 Bones and Stones albums mostly recorded and in the pipeline from our minds, instruments, and voices to the ears of anyone who chooses to listen.
